Are you moving to a new home in Passaic County or any of the nearby areas? If so, you need to schedule a home inspection if you haven’t done so already. You may not realize this, but home inspectors do not conduct well inspections. A well inspection needs to be performed by a certified well inspector. The well inspectors at Ackerson Pump Company know exactly what to look for in a home’s well system. They can tell you if it’s working at top performance or if it needs any repairs or maintenance. Continue reading below to learn what’s included in our residential well inspections.
Our well inspection begins inside your home. We check the water tank, including the fittings and valves. Our inspectors do a thorough job of examining the entire tank, making sure it’s operating correctly. We look for any signs of corrosion, rust, or decay. If anything needs to be repaired or replaced, this information is included on the well inspection report.
Our certified well inspectors will then move on to the outdoor pump system. We’ll test the pump, checking it for both volume and pressure. We’ll also take off the well cap and examine the water level as it runs. Throughout this process, we’ll examine and review the entire system, looking for any signs that repairs that need to be made.
For our last step, we completely examine the water softener. We check the salt levels as well as examine the softener for any signs of iron, sulfur, or hardness. We’ll also inspect both the outside tank components and the inside of the tank. Any recommendations for repairs or maintenance will be included in our thorough well inspection report.
